FAQs

Q. Which party do you support?

A. We do not support any particular political party, only policies and ideas. There are policies in all parties that we support, and certainly policies that we oppose.

Q. How do you describe yourselves?

A. We are classical liberals. We believe in greater individual freedom and responsibility and a more limited role for the state.

Q. Why do you call yourselves “Progressive Vision”?

A. Because we believe the name summarises our optimistic, long-term, modern view of politics.

Q. Why not call yourselves “Liberal Vision”?

A. That might give the impression that Progressive Vision is part of the Liberal Democrats. We are not. We will, however, do what we can to encourage the Liberal Democrats – as well as the other parties – to adopt a more liberal approach to policy.

Q. Why are your policies significantly different from others who call themselves “progressive”?

A. We believe that many of the people who call themselves progressives actually support , old-fashioned, outdated, statist solutions. They should properly be referred to as socialists or social democrats. We wish to reclaim the word “progressive” for those who support modern, radical, liberal ideas.

Q. How are you funded?

A. We are funded solely by the generous contributions of individuals and companies who support our aims. We do not accept any funding from the public purse. You can donate to Progressive Vision from the donations page.

Q. Do your donors influence your policies?

A. No. We are always looking to work with individuals, organisations and companies who share our aims and values. But we retain complete editorial independence in all the work we do.

Q. How can I help?

A. We welcome the support of private individuals. If you would like to get involved with our work, please contact us.
